I wish to welcome you to the 9 th Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology (APCN) to be held in Pattaya, Thailand on 16-20 February 2003. This congress is one of the most important activities of the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology for exchange of knowledge and enhancement of friendship among members of the society and nephrologists from all over the world.
Pattaya is an excellent location since it is a city with beautiful beach resort. As President of Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology, I take this opportunity to congratulate the Nephrology Society of Thailand and the Organizing Committee for their efforts in preparing a congress in such a nice location, and hope that the meeting is an exciting and memorable one.

Dear Colleagues:

It is indeed my great pleasure to invite you to the 9 th Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology to be held on 16-20 February 2003 in Pattaya, Thailand. Pattaya is an attractive city on the eastern coast of Thailand, 150 kilometers from Bangkok. The city is well known for its beautiful sea resort with marine sports, golf, entertainment and several other attractions. The Royal Cliff Beach Resort, the venue of the meeting, is a scenic spot of this city with pretty scenery. The scientific committee is preparing an excellent programme. In addition to plenary lectures, symposia and free papers, there are state-of-the-art lectures on general medical topics reflecting the environment of the Asian Pacific region that are relevant to nephrology. CME courses are held simultaneously with the scientific meeting, and are thus accessible to all participants.
It is about the time for us to meet academically, to exchange ideas, to make new acquaintances and to renew friendships. I look very much forward to welcome you in Pattaya.
