APPES FELLOWS' COURSE

The 2006 APPES Fellows Meeting will be held over 3 days immediately prior to the APPES 2006 Scientific Meeting. This years meeting is generously sponsored by Serono. We invite trainees in paediatric endocrinology to apply for this wonderful opportunity for education and interaction with colleagues and faculty from countries within the Asia Pacific region. Further information regarding the meeting and how to apply is provided below.  

Course objectives:

• To provide education on paediatric endocrinology and diabetes topics covering at least 9 learning areas.
• To enhance learning experience using a variety of education formats including case presentations, interactive problem based learning, informal didactic lectures and an endocrine quiz.
• To promote understanding about different management practices across the region.
• To promote social interaction between participants and faculty

Location and Dates:

Rayong Resort is in a beautiful location on the Gulf of Thailand approximately 2 hours from Bangkok and 1 hour from Pattaya. The course will be conducted from Sunday morning, October 29^th to Wednesday morning, November 1^st. Participants will need to arrive on Saturday October 28^th, 2006 The accommodation and meal costs will be supported by Serono. In addition, Serono will support Travel Scolarships for those who require travel to Thailand. Please note that participation in the Fellows Meeting is separate from the APPES 2006 Scientific Meeting at Pattaya – all costs for APPES 2006 need to be met by the individual.

Participants and Faculty: The meeting will involve approximately 36 trainees and 8 faculty. We are fortunate that two of the plenary speakers for APPES 2006, Professors Jan-Maarten Wit and Ieaun Hughes will participate. The selection of applicants will include consideration of the above information and of the geographical distribution of the participants.
