Biographical statement:
Prof. R. Weiner is head of the department of surgery in the
hospital Krankenhaus Sachsenhausen. His specialty and expertise
is the surgical treatment of obesity in a minimally invasive
way using the videoendoscopic technique, which allows operations
with only some small cuts. He also does other abdominal operations
using these techniques.
Prof. R. Weiner is one of very few surgeons worldwide who can
perform a variety of different procedures for obesity: intragastric
balloon, gastric pacer, gastric banding (adjustable), gastric
bypass (RYGB), banded bypass and biliopancreatic bypass with
duodenalswitch. (BPD/DS).
He has a great deal of experience with weight loss surgery.
He has been working in that field for almost twenty years. Since
1994 he has performed more than 1600 laparoscopic weight loss
surgeries; not only in Germany, but also in different countries
worldwide. (e.g. Egypt, Brazil, Russia, Hungary, Portugal and
much more).
